Hampton, VA (January 6, 2026) – Emergency crews responded to a reported injury crash on Interstate 64 in Hampton on the afternoon of January 5, resulting in delays and an ongoing investigation into the cause of the incident.
The collision occurred on January 5 around 3:31 p.m. in the eastbound lanes of I-64 near mile marker 185. Units from Hampton Fire and EMS were dispatched to the scene after receiving reports of a vehicle accident involving possible injuries. OEMs were also notified and responded to the incident.
While the number of vehicles involved and the total extent of injuries were not confirmed in the initial radio communication, crews were actively assessing the scene and providing aid to those involved.
