Hancock County, OH (April 19, 2026) – A two-vehicle crash on Interstate 75 early Sunday morning, April 19, left one person dead and four others hurt. The collision happened just before 3 a.m. near the State Route 235 interchange.
Emergency units reported that a northbound car driven by 21-year-old Samenda Moreau of Findlay was traveling at a high speed when it struck a pickup truck. The pickup was driven by 51-year-old Jeanine Marsh of Englewood.
The impact forced the pickup off the roadway, where it overturned. A 49-year-old passenger, Rondel Marsh of Englewood, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Jeanine Marsh was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. A second passenger in the pickup was treated at the scene. Moreau and her passenger also suffered minor injuries.
Alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the crash. Moreau was later booked into Hancock County Jail. The incident remains under investigation by authorities. Our condolences go out to the victim’s loved ones.
Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash, and more details will be released as soon as they become available.
What Investigators Typically Review After a High-Speed Highway Collision
After a high-speed crash on a major highway, early focus is placed on vehicle positions, roadway layout, and timing of impact. These details help reconstruct how the collision unfolded in the moments leading up to it.
Speed is often examined closely, especially when one vehicle is reported to have been traveling faster than surrounding traffic. Investigators may compare skid patterns, damage points, and debris spread to understand movement before impact.
Road conditions can also be reviewed, including visibility, lane design, and nearby exits or interchanges. These factors may influence how drivers react in fast-moving traffic environments.
In cases involving multiple occupants, medical evaluations help confirm injury levels and provide additional clarity on the severity of the crash.
