Harrington, DE (January 27, 2026) – A serious snowmobile accident occurred on January 26 in the 14600 block of S Dupont Hwy in Harrington, leaving two individuals injured, including a 13-year-old boy who required airlift transport.
The crash involved a head-on collision between two snowmobiles in a field, causing both operators to be ejected. Responders from Harrington Fire Company (Station 50), Felton Fire Company (Station 48), medics, and Delaware State Police Aviation Trooper 2 were dispatched to the scene.
One patient suffered a possible severe fracture and heavy bleeding. Officers on scene applied a tourniquet prior to EMS arrival. The injured 13-year-old was flown by DSP Aviation to AI Dupont Hospital for specialized pediatric trauma care. The second patient was taken by ground to BayHealth Kent Hospital for further evaluation.
The circumstances leading to the crash are under investigation, and officials have not released the names of those involved.
