Why Logging Truck Crashes Can Lead to Severe Road Hazards
Crashes involving trucks carrying heavy or shifting cargo can create dangerous roadway conditions. When loads such as logs spill onto the road, they can block traffic lanes and increase the risk of secondary collisions.
Large trucks also have a higher center of gravity, which can contribute to rollover crashes, especially during sudden turns or uneven road conditions. When a vehicle overturns, occupants may face a higher risk of serious injury due to impact forces.
Road closures are often required in these situations to allow for safe cleanup and removal of heavy debris. Investigators typically review vehicle stability, load securing methods, and road conditions to determine what led to the crash.
