Frequently Asked Questions
How do left-turning vehicles cause motorcycle collisions?
Many motorcycle crashes happen when a car or truck turns left across a rider's path, often because the driver misjudges the motorcycle's speed or distance, or simply doesn't see it in time.
What can drivers do to watch for motorcycles?
Checking mirrors and blind spots twice, especially at intersections and when merging, gives drivers a better chance of spotting a motorcycle before changing lanes or turning.
Are motorcycle accidents more common at intersections?
Intersections and merge points, including toll plazas and highway lane shifts, see frequent motorcycle crashes because of the close mix of turning, merging, and slowing vehicles.
What to Do After a Motorcycle Accident in Hayward, CA
Anyone involved in a motorcycle crash should seek medical evaluation right away, even if injuries seem minor at first, since road rash, fractures, and head trauma aren't always obvious immediately after impact. It helps to get the names and contact information of any witnesses, take photos of the scene if it's safe to do so, and request a copy of the official collision report once it's available. Riders recovering in Hayward should also follow up with their own doctor in the days after a crash, since swelling and soft-tissue injuries can take time to appear.
