Truckee, CA (July 15, 2026) – A head-on collision involving multiple vehicles blocked both directions of State Route 267 near Northstar Drive in Truckee on Wednesday afternoon.
The collision was reported at approximately 2:36 p.m. Initial dispatch information indicated a camper trailer was involved, with later updates identifying a white Chevrolet Suburban, a white sedan, and a recreational vehicle measuring about 25 to 30 feet in length. Both directions of the highway were closed while crews worked on the roadway, with the southbound lane reopening later, while one-way traffic control remained in place for northbound traffic.
Dispatch records also indicated a strong smell of propane prompted an additional fire response later in the afternoon. Tow truck services were requested for the recreational vehicle and another vehicle, including one held for evidence.
