Unsafe Passing Maneuvers Lead to Severe Crashes
Head-on collisions are among the most dangerous types of traffic accidents, resulting in serious or life-threatening injuries due to the combined force of impact. Many of these crashes occur when drivers attempt to pass in areas where visibility is limited, or passing is prohibited.
Traffic safety officials remind motorists to obey roadway markings and avoid passing in no-passing zones, particularly on two-lane highways where oncoming traffic may be difficult to see.
