How Pedestrian and E-Scooter Safety Can Help Prevent Roadway Injuries
Pedestrian and e-scooter safety depends on awareness from everyone sharing the road. Drivers should check crosswalks carefully before turning, while people walking or riding should remain alert to nearby vehicles.
Turning movements can create risks because drivers may focus on traffic flow and fail to notice someone crossing nearby. E-scooter and bicycle riders can also move quickly, which may make it harder for drivers to react in time.
Following traffic rules, using marked crossings, and maintaining attention can reduce the chance of serious roadway harm. Warmer months often bring more people outdoors, making awareness between drivers and other road users especially important.
