What Makes Early Morning Crashes More Dangerous?
Crashes that occur in the early morning hours can be especially dangerous due to a combination of factors such as reduced visibility, driver fatigue, and lighter traffic conditions that may encourage higher speeds. Drivers commuting during these hours may also be less alert, increasing the risk of serious collisions.
Additionally, changing light conditions at sunrise can make it harder to see other vehicles or hazards on the roadway. Even on familiar routes, a momentary lapse in attention can have severe consequences.
Staying alert, allowing extra travel time, and adjusting driving habits to match conditions can help reduce the risk of early morning crashes.
