Santa Ana, CA (June 17, 2026) – One person was hurt on Tuesday afternoon, June 16, after a hit-and-run accident on southbound Interstate 5 near 17th Street.
The California Highway Patrol log listed the call at about 3:45 p.m. The report noted a black Mercedes C300 blocking the third lane on southbound Interstate 5 just north of 17th Street.
Emergency units were assigned shortly after the first update. By 3:56 p.m., the road was listed as clear, and fire personnel had cleared from the call.
The hit-and-run remains under review as investigators work to confirm the full sequence. We hope the person hurt receives proper care and support during recovery.
