Why T-Bone Collisions Often Result in Serious Injuries
A T-bone crash happens when the front of one vehicle strikes the side of another, creating a “T” shape at the point of impact. These collisions frequently occur at intersections where vehicles cross paths while turning or traveling through traffic signals.
Side impacts can be particularly dangerous because the sides of vehicles typically offer less structural protection than the front or rear. As a result, occupants sitting on the impacted side may face a higher risk of injury.
The severity of these accidents often depends on factors such as vehicle speed, the angle of impact, and whether passengers are seated near the point of contact. Emergency crews may also need extra time to assist people trapped inside damaged vehicles.
Because intersections involve multiple traffic movements, these locations are commonly reviewed closely after a serious crash.
