Titusville, FL (July 28, 2026) – A homicide suspect from Volusia County died on Monday night after a police pursuit ended with a vehicle entering a pond at Sand Point Park in Titusville.
The police said they were notified by the Daytona Beach Police Department that a homicide suspect’s vehicle had entered the city. Using license plate reader technology, officers tracked the vehicle before attempting a traffic stop near Washington Ave and Garden St.
Investigators said the driver fled east on Max Brewer Memorial Pkwy before the vehicle entered a pond at Sand Point Park. The suspect was later identified as Robert Reyes Jr. Officers secured the surrounding area and requested specialized resources because they believed the suspect was armed and dangerous. Additional details about the fatal crash had not been released at the time of publication. The circumstances surrounding the pursuit and crash continue to be investigated.
