Howell Co, MO (February 3, 2026) – An afternoon accident in Howell County led to injuries and significant vehicle damage along U.S. 160 on Monday. The incident was reported around 1:25 p.m., approximately three miles west of West Plains, where traffic was impacted as crews worked at the scene.
Reports indicate that two pickup trucks were involved in the accident, including a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado traveling eastbound and a 2011 Ford F-250 heading westbound. The collision resulted in extensive damage to both vehicles, each of which was later towed from the roadway at the owners’ request.
Emergency medical personnel evaluated those involved shortly after the accident occurred. The driver of the Chevrolet, a 45-year-old man from West Plains, sustained injuries described as minor and was transported to Ozarks Healthcare in West Plains by private conveyance for further evaluation and care. No additional injuries were reported at the scene.
The roadway experienced brief slowdowns while vehicles were removed and the area was made safe for passing traffic. Authorities continue to review the circumstances surrounding the accident.
