Indianapolis, IN (January 22, 2026) – A 37-year-old woman was injured in a vehicle collision near North Senate Avenue early Wednesday morning. The crash, reported around 7:09 a.m., resulted in trauma alert activation due to the nature of the injuries and vehicle impact.
According to emergency dispatch audio, the woman was driving without a seatbelt when the vehicle sustained moderate front-end damage. Responders noted spidering on the windshield, suggesting the force of impact was significant. The patient suffered a forehead laceration, a laceration to the tongue, and reported vision issues, including periods of blacking out.
Medics administered 15 micrograms of fentanyl to manage her pain and transported her for trauma evaluation. At the time of transport, she was conscious and in a cervical collar, with a recorded blood pressure of 148 mmHg and a heart rate of approximately 120 bpm. She was breathing independently, showing no signs of major internal trauma based on initial assessment.
The cause of the crash has not been disclosed, and it is unclear if other vehicles were involved. The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is investigating the incident.
