Indianapolis, IN (January 18, 2026) – An accident involving injuries and a hit-and-run was reported on Saturday morning near the intersection of North Sherman Dr and East Michigan St in Indianapolis, prompting a medical response and active investigation.
The crash occurred at approximately 9:44 a.m. on January 17. According to dispatch reports, the collision involved a gray Honda Accord and a green Ford Explorer. Following the crash, one of the drivers fled the scene on foot, heading eastbound on Michigan St and then down an alley. EMS units were quickly dispatched to the area to assist the injured.
Emergency responders arrived to provide on-site medical treatment, though the number of individuals injured and the extent of their injuries have not yet been confirmed. Police are currently working to identify and locate the suspect who fled.
The intersection, located in a residential and commercial corridor on the city’s east side, experienced traffic disruptions as authorities secured the scene and began their investigation.
