Indio, CA (January 19, 2026) – One individual was injured in a two-vehicle traffic collision Sunday morning on Interstate 10 near Monroe St in Indio, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred at approximately 9:49 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of I-10 and involved a Toyota Camry and another unidentified vehicle that reportedly fled the scene before officers arrived.
Emergency personnel responded promptly and rendered aid to an occupant of the Camry who sustained a possible head injury. The victim received treatment at the scene before being transported for further medical care.
The full extent of the injuries is not yet known, and authorities have not released additional details about the vehicle that left the scene. Traffic in the area experienced delays as officials documented evidence and cleared the roadway.
The CHP is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash and the vehicle that fled the scene.
