San Jacinto, CA (July 18, 2026) – A head-on traffic accident involving two vehicles was reported on Friday afternoon on SR-79 near California Ave in San Jacinto. The collision was reported at approximately 3:57 p.m. on July 17.
According to the initial report, the crash involved a silver sedan and a blue sedan traveling in opposite directions. Dispatch information indicated the vehicles collided head-on, and at least one person was reported hurt. One caller advised they were not injured, but stated others involved were.
The report also indicated one vehicle caught fire, with flames limited to the engine compartment. Another update noted a person may have been ejected from a vehicle, although that information has not been confirmed. Both vehicles came to rest on the right shoulder, and one required towing from the roadway. The identities of those involved have not been released.
