Avenue City, MO (July 18, 2026) – A three-vehicle crash on Thursday night at US-169 and Route West in Avenue City injured a 29-year-old driver. The collision was reported around 9:10 p.m. on July 16, prompting a response from emergency units.
Detectives said a northbound Chevrolet Cruze failed to stop at a stop sign on Route West before striking a westbound Kia Optima. The Kia was pushed off the roadway, overturned, and later struck a parked Jeep Grand Cherokee in a nearby lot. The Kia driver, a Union Star man, sustained moderate injuries and was transported by Andrew County EMS to Mosaic in St. Joseph.
The other two drivers were not hurt. The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities will release additional details as they are confirmed.
