Why Crashes Involving Semi-Trucks Can Affect Multiple People
Collisions involving large commercial trucks result in more extensive damage because of the vehicles’ size and weight. When passenger cars are involved, occupants may face a greater risk of injury due to differences in vehicle mass and the forces generated during impact.
Investigators typically examine vehicle positions, roadway conditions, driver statements, and physical evidence to determine how these crashes occurred. In collisions involving several vehicles, they may also review braking distances, visibility, and traffic conditions. Medical evaluations help document the extent of injuries, while vehicle inspections can provide additional information about the sequence of events leading up to the crash.
