San Bernardino, CA (September 10, 2026) – An injury crash involving a semi-truck and a passenger vehicle was reported Tuesday, September 8, on northbound Interstate 15 near San Bernardino.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a blue Honda Civic and an Amazon tractor-trailer were involved in the crash. Both vehicles were on the right side of the freeway after the collision.

The driver or occupant of the Honda reported head pain and nausea and requested fire department assistance. The incident was later closed by the Freeway Service Patrol. Additional information about the extent of the injuries and whether the person was transported for treatment was not immediately available.

Our thoughts are with the person injured in this crash and their loved ones. We wish the injured individual a full and speedy recovery.

Why Are Large Trucks More Difficult to Stop?

Large commercial trucks require more distance to slow or stop because of their size and weight. When traffic changes suddenly, a truck may not be able to respond as quickly as a passenger vehicle. This difference can become especially important on busy freeways where vehicles travel at higher speeds.

Passenger vehicle drivers should leave enough space when traveling near tractor-trailers and avoid cutting closely in front of them. Remaining visible in a truck’s mirrors can also help reduce the chance of staying in an area where the truck driver has limited visibility. Drivers should be especially careful when traffic begins to slow.

Road conditions can also affect stopping distance for every vehicle. Wet pavement, congestion, steep grades, and sudden lane changes may give motorists less time to respond to developing hazards. Maintaining a steady speed and leaving additional following distance can provide more time to react when traffic conditions change.

1Seek treatment promptly after being injured in an accident. Your first priority should always be your health. Many providers offer treatment on a lien basis, meaning you can get the care you need now and pay later when your claim is resolved.
2Before speaking with an insurance company, make sure you have the facts. An official police report is the most reliable record of what happened and can help establish liability An experienced attorney can assist you in obtaining this report and using it to protect your interests.
3Consider having your case reviewed by a qualified attorney who can guide you through the next steps. They will safeguard your rights and pursue the compensation you deserve.
