Coal Township, PA (July 8, 2026) – An injury crash involving a truck was reported on Tuesday night, July 7, on Route 61 near the Walmart in Coal Township, Northumberland County. Emergency units were dispatched to the intersection at approximately 10 p.m. after receiving reports that a truck had overturned onto its side.
According to public 911 radio reports, multiple people involved requested medical evaluation. The number of vehicles involved and the extent of any injuries have not been confirmed.
Route 61 was temporarily closed in both directions while crews worked to assist those involved and clear the roadway. The highway reopened at approximately 11:15 p.m. The cause of the crash remains under investigation, and additional information has not yet been released.
