Thousand Oaks, CA (August 4, 2026) – A multi-vehicle crash resulting in injuries was reported on August 2 on the southbound lanes of US-101 just north of Hampshire Road in Thousand Oaks.
According to dispatch information, the collision was first reported at about 1:53 p.m. Initial reports indicated three vehicles were involved, but later updates suggested as many as seven or eight vehicles may have been part of the chain-reaction crash. A blue Tesla, a black Porsche, a dark blue Lamborghini, and a truck were among the vehicles mentioned in radio traffic.
Witnesses told dispatchers that a black sports car had been traveling at speeds exceeding 100 mph before striking the Tesla, which then hit the truck. Another witness reported having dash camera footage showing the black Porsche traveling at high speed before the collision. Emergency units closed five of the six southbound lanes while assisting those involved, and at least one tow truck was requested. The CHP later updated the crash to indicate minor injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation as additional details become available.
