Shingletown, CA (August 4, 2026) – At least one person was hurt in a two-vehicle traffic accident on State Route 44 at Butte Lake Road near Shingletown on August 2.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch log, the crash was reported at about 1:53 p.m. Initial reports indicated that no one was trapped inside the vehicles. The vehicles involved were described as a white Toyota sedan and a black sedan, both of which came to rest off the roadway.
Emergency units were sent to the roadway after the report. Dispatch records later indicated that one person complained of seatbelt and airbag-related pain, confirming at least one injury. An air ambulance was also requested and was expected to land on the highway, while a tow truck was called to remove a Volkswagen sedan.
The cause of the crash remains under review as investigators continue gathering information.
