A 2025 Jeep Wrangler was traveling west on County Road 10 before the vehicles made contact at the intersection. The Jeep’s airbag deployed after the crash.
The Jeep driver was listed as a 15-year-old female; she was taken to Lake Region Healthcare in Fergus Falls for care. The semi driver was identified as 38-year-old Shane Leland Egge of Barnesville; he was not injured. The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under review as more details are confirmed.
We hope the injured driver receives the care she needs.
Large Trucks Add Risk at Highway Crossings
Highway crossings can be difficult when smaller vehicles and large trucks reach the same junction. A semi-truck needs more space to stop, turn, and clear an intersection than a passenger vehicle.
When a Jeep and a semi make contact, the size difference between the vehicles may affect how much force each occupant experiences. Airbag deployment may also show that the smaller vehicle absorbed a strong impact.
Reports in these cases may review travel direction, right-of-way, sightlines, traffic signs, and the point at which each vehicle entered the crossing. Road surface details and driver statements may also help explain how the vehicles came together. These facts are useful when one driver is hurt and another is listed as uninjured.
