Lamar County, MS (June 29, 2026) – A 30-year-old investigator with the Forrest County Sheriff’s Office died following a motorcycle collision on Saturday afternoon, June 27, on Highway 589 in Lamar County.
According to the Mississippi Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 2:10 p.m. Investigators said a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by 40-year-old Nicole Prestenbach of Petal, was traveling south on Highway 589 when it collided with a 2025 Honda motorcycle traveling north.
The motorcycle was operated by 30-year-old Andretta English of Seminary, who served as an investigator with the Forrest County Sheriff’s Office. English was transported by ambulance to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries, but later died.
Prestenbach and an 8-year-old passenger in the Silverado were not injured in the collision.
The Mississippi Highway Patrol continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash.
