How to Stay Safe While Riding Jet Skis
Jet ski accidents can cause serious injuries because riders may be thrown from the watercraft during an impact. Wearing a properly fitted life jacket is one of the most important safety steps for anyone operating or riding a personal watercraft.
Safe operation also requires maintaining a reasonable distance from other boats and watercraft. Riders should remain alert to changing conditions and avoid sudden turns or maneuvers that could place nearby riders at risk.
Operators should also follow posted waterway rules and use appropriate safety equipment. Staying aware of other watercraft can give riders more time to react when traffic becomes crowded or another vessel changes direction.
