Johnson, MO (January 9, 2026) – A multi-vehicle collision along Business 13 just north of NE 150 Rd left three people with injuries, including a young child, early on Thursday morning.
According to reports released by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at approximately 7:05 a.m. and involved a 2019 RAM 3500, a 2023 Jeep Wrangler, and a 2016 Chevrolet Traverse. The crash began when the RAM, traveling northbound, struck the rear of the Jeep Wrangler. The force of the impact pushed the Wrangler into the path of the oncoming Chevrolet Traverse, which was heading south. The Traverse veered off the right side of the roadway and came to rest in a nearby ditch.
A 2-year-old girl from Holden, who was riding in the Jeep, sustained injuries and was transported privately to St. Luke’s Medical Center for treatment. The 46-year-old male driver of the Jeep and a 45-year-old female driver of the Traverse, both from Warrensburg, were also hurt. The male was taken by Johnson County Ambulance District to Western Missouri Medical Center, while the woman was driven there privately.
All three vehicles sustained significant damage. The Jeep and the Chevrolet were both declared totaled, while the RAM had moderate damage. All were towed from the scene by Tip Top Tow and Recovery. Troopers confirmed that all occupants had been wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.
The crash is under investigation by Troop A, with additional assistance provided at the scene by TPR R.E. Tayloe. Authorities have not yet confirmed what factors may have led to the initial impact.
