Why Vehicle-Into-Building Crashes Occur
Crashes involving vehicles striking buildings often happen after a collision between cars or when a driver loses control of a vehicle. The force of impact can push a vehicle off the roadway and into nearby structures such as businesses, homes, or storefronts.
Even when injuries are minor, these incidents can create serious hazards. Structural damage may weaken walls or support beams, which is why building inspectors are often called to assess safety after a crash. In many cases, responders also secure utilities and restrict access to the building until it can be evaluated.
Vehicle-into-building crashes highlight how quickly accidents can extend beyond the roadway and affect nearby properties.
