Frequently Asked Questions
Does speed make a crash worse?
Yes. Higher speed gives a driver less time to react and increases the force involved in a collision, which usually means more serious injuries and more property damage.
Why is distracted driving considered so risky?
Taking eyes or attention off the road for even a few seconds means a driver can miss a stopped car, a turning vehicle or a pedestrian until it's too late to avoid a collision.
Can weather or road conditions cause a crash like this?
Wet, icy or poorly lit roads can reduce traction and visibility, making it harder for drivers to stop or steer in time, especially in early-morning hours.
What should someone do right after a car accident?
Check for injuries, call 911, move to a safe spot if possible, and wait for police to arrive and document the scene before discussing fault.
