Lancaster County, PA (March 23, 2026) – Four people were hurt on Sunday evening, March 22, after a high-speed police chase ended in a crash involving multiple vehicles at an intersection in Lancaster County.
According to reports, a 20-year-old driver, identified as Jesus Juarez-Juarez of Chester County, was fleeing at speeds reaching 120 mph. The pursuit moved along Strasburg Road and continued onto South Village Lane around 7 p.m. A second Infiniti was initially involved but separated early in the chase.
Authorities say Juarez-Juarez ran a stop sign at the intersection and struck a tractor-trailer, causing it to overturn. The truck then hit a nearby sedan. All three vehicles caught fire shortly after the crash, but bystanders helped put out the flames.
The driver of the sedan became trapped and had to be freed by emergency units. Others involved, including a 15-year-old boy in the fleeing vehicle, were able to exit on their own. Four people were taken to a hospital for treatment.
Officials also reported that multiple vehicles, a horse and buggy, and a bicyclist were passed dangerously during the pursuit. Juarez-Juarez was taken into custody following the incident.
The police continue to investigate the cause of the crash, and more details will be released as soon as they become available.
We are thinking of those injured as they receive medical care.
What Happens When a High-Speed Crash Involves Multiple Vehicles?
Crashes involving several vehicles can quickly become complex, especially when large trucks are part of the impact. When a heavy vehicle overturns, it can strike nearby traffic and increase the chance of secondary collisions.
Fire risk is also higher in these situations. Fuel leaks, engine damage, and debris can lead to flames spreading between vehicles. Quick action by bystanders or emergency responders can help limit further harm.
Rescue efforts may take longer when someone is trapped inside a damaged vehicle. Crews often need special tools to safely remove them without causing more injury. Road conditions, visibility, and how fast vehicles were moving can all affect how serious the outcome is in these types of crashes.
