Laporte, MN (January 12, 2026) – An accident involving two pickup trucks resulted in multiple non-life-threatening injuries on Sunday afternoon on Highway 200 near County Road 45 in Laporte, Hubbard County. The crash occurred around 1:54 PM on January 11 and involved both northbound and southbound traffic.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a 1997 Ford F250 traveling northbound on Hwy 200 crossed into the southbound lane. In an attempt to avoid a collision, the driver of a 1997 Chevy GMT-400 heading south swerved into the northbound lane. However, just before the vehicles passed, the Ford returned to the northbound lane, striking the Chevy head-on.
Three occupants in the Ford F250 were injured, including 19-year-old driver Waylon Kevin Stmarie of Laporte and 18-year-old passenger Julie Mae Lindenmuth of Walker. Both sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to nearby hospitals. A 16-year-old male passenger from Walker also suffered non-life-threatening injuries but was not taken to a medical facility.
In the Chevy GMT-400, the driver, 19-year-old Deacon Abraham Forseman of Laporte, was reportedly wearing a seatbelt and sustained non-life-threatening injuries. He did not require hospitalization. His passenger, 18-year-old Gavyn William Darcy of Laporte, was not injured.
Outside agencies assisting at the scene included the Hubbard County Sheriff’s Office, Laporte Fire Department, and North Memorial Ambulance. Investigators confirmed that no alcohol was involved, but noted that several individuals in the Ford were not wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
