Multiple-Vehicle Crashes Can Strain Emergency Response
Multiple-vehicle crashes can create several injury concerns at once. When more than one vehicle is involved, emergency units may need to check drivers and passengers in different vehicles while also keeping traffic away from the damaged area.
A second ambulance request may signal that more than one person needs medical evaluation. Some injuries may be obvious right away, while others, such as neck pain, head trauma, or internal harm, may take more time to identify.
Crashes at highway intersections can also affect traffic flow quickly. Drivers may be turning, slowing, or crossing lanes while vehicles approach at different speeds. After a serious roadway accident, reviews usually focus on vehicle paths, lane position, speed, visibility, and where each vehicle came to rest.
