Pinole, CA (August 10, 2026) — A fatal motorcycle collision occurred on the westbound I-80 near the Pinole Valley Road off-ramp late on Saturday, August 8.
California Highway Patrol dispatch records show the incident was first reported around 11:34 p.m. Initial calls described a motorcycle and another vehicle, with the rider and motorcycle down in the freeway lanes.
Emergency medical personnel were requested as officers responded. Dispatch updates later on described several vehicles stopping near the scene and roadway hazards developing while traffic was being controlled. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
