Why Head-On Commercial Vehicle Crashes Are Often Severe
Head-on collisions involving commercial vehicles can cause catastrophic damage due to their size and weight. Even at moderate speeds, the impact forces between two large vehicles can cause fatal injuries and extensive roadway disruption.
Investigators commonly examine lane positioning, braking evidence, and vehicle damage to determine how the collision occurred. In crashes involving delivery trucks or work vehicles, route timing and roadway conditions may also be reviewed.
Commercial vehicle crashes often require lengthy scene investigations due to debris removal, cargo concerns, and the need to carefully inspect both vehicles. These investigations help reconstruct the sequence of events leading up to the collision.
