Motorcycle vs Vehicle Crash Factors at Intersections
Crashes involving motorcycles and larger vehicles at intersections often require detailed reconstruction due to the severity of injuries involved. Investigators typically examine right-of-way, signal timing, and the speed of both vehicles leading up to the impact.
Visibility is also closely reviewed, including blind spots, roadway lighting, and traffic congestion that may have limited each driver’s ability to see the other. In cases involving extrication, vehicle deformation patterns help determine the force and angle of impact. Medical response times and injury severity are also documented to better understand the outcomes of the collision and how quickly emergency care was provided.
