How Failure to Yield Can Lead to Serious Intersection Crashes
Failure to yield is a frequent cause of serious crashes at intersections. Drivers must watch for approaching traffic and allow enough space before entering or crossing roadways. When a vehicle enters an intersection without yielding, it can create a sudden hazard for other drivers.
Crashes at intersections often involve side impacts or angled collisions. These types of crashes can lead to severe injuries due to the limited protection on the sides of vehicles. Even when safety devices are used, the force of impact can cause significant harm.
Intersection safety depends on driver awareness, proper timing, and clear visibility. Slowing down and checking all directions before entering can help reduce the risk of a serious crash.
