Long Beach, CA (January 27, 2026) – A serious traffic collision with injuries—and possibly a fatality—was reported Monday night near the intersection of W Anaheim St and De Forest Ave, according to emergency dispatch information.
The incident occurred at approximately 10:06 p.m., when units were requested to respond to what was initially described as a traffic crash requiring medical attention. Dispatch audio later included a “901K” code, indicating at least one person may have died at the scene.
Emergency crews responded quickly, providing aid to those involved and coordinating with police to secure the area. The number of vehicles involved and the circumstances surrounding the crash have not been publicly released.
Due to the severity of the incident, portions of the roadway were closed while investigators worked at the scene. Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine what led to the crash and whether criminal factors, such as speed or impairment, may have played a role.
