Why Motorcycles Can Be Dangerous on Bike Trails
Motorcycles on bike trails pose serious risks because these paths are designed for pedestrians and bicycles, not high-speed vehicles. Trails are often narrow with limited visibility, making head-on collisions more likely.
Speed significantly increases the force of impact in a crash, especially when protective gear such as helmets is not used. Even small mistakes can result in severe injury or death. Trails also feature obstacles such as sharp turns, benches, and other riders, which can make controlling a motorcycle difficult.
Following trail rules and restricting motorized vehicles to proper roadways helps prevent these tragic accidents.
