How Pedestrian Injuries Can Occur in Parking Lots
Parking lot crashes often happen at low speeds, but injuries can still occur when vehicles unexpectedly move near pedestrians. Drivers leaving a parking spot may have limited visibility, making it difficult to see people sitting or walking nearby.
Obstacles such as walls, parked vehicles, or landscaping can further reduce a driver’s line of sight. Even minor impacts can knock someone off balance or cause falls. Pedestrians should remain aware of moving vehicles, and drivers should exercise extra caution when maneuvering in areas with foot traffic.
