Los Angeles, CA (March 16, 2026) – A late-night crash involving several vehicles on Sunday, March 15, left one person dead and another critically hurt on the 110 Freeway in downtown Los Angeles.
Emergency units responded around 1:45 a.m. to the northbound side of the freeway near 6th Street after reports of a serious collision. Early information indicated that three vehicles were involved in the crash.
When crews arrived, one of the vehicles was heavily damaged and on fire in the roadway. A video from the scene showed the vehicle overturned and fully engulfed in flames shortly after the crash occurred. One person was pronounced dead at the scene. Another victim was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition. Authorities have not yet released the identities of those involved.
Traffic in the area was heavily affected overnight as crews worked at the scene. A traffic alert was issued for the northbound portion of the freeway through the downtown corridor before conditions later returned to normal.
The crash remains under investigation, and additional details may be released as authorities continue their review.
