Lubbock, TX (January 9, 2026) – Emergency crews responded on Thursday afternoon to a traffic collision involving injuries near North Quaker Ave and Texas Tech Parkway in Lubbock, resulting in medical assistance and roadway disruption.

The incident occurred just after noon on January 8 and reportedly involved a gold pickup truck and a vehicle operated by Lubbock Power & Light (LP&L). First responders from Lubbock Fire Rescue and EMS units arrived at the scene to treat individuals who suffered a variety of injuries in the crash.

Crews worked quickly to assess those hurt, with at least one person believed to have been transported for further medical attention. Officials have not yet released specific details regarding the number of people injured or the severity of their conditions.

The crash temporarily affected traffic near the university area, as responders managed the scene and tow services cleared the damaged vehicles from the roadway.
