How Do High-Speed Rear-End Crashes Cause Severe Injuries?
Rear-end accidents at higher speeds can result in significant force being transferred to the vehicle in front. When a stopped vehicle is struck, occupants may experience sudden movement that increases injury risk.
The severity of damage often depends on speed and whether the impacted vehicle is stationary. At near freeway speeds, even a single impact can lead to major structural damage.
Children and passengers may face different injury risks depending on seating position and restraints. Traffic signals and congestion points can increase the chance of these types of crashes.
