What Risks Are Associated with Elevated Roadway Work Zones?
Areas like Interstate 395 and Biscayne Boulevard often involve elevated structures and active traffic below. In Miami, work zones on overpasses can present added safety challenges due to height and limited space.
Falls from elevated roadways can lead to severe injuries due to the distance and impact. Workers in these environments may face risks from unstable footing, equipment movement, or reduced visibility during overnight hours.
Safety measures such as barriers, harness systems, and controlled access zones are often used to reduce these risks. Even with precautions, elevated work areas require careful coordination to help prevent serious incidents.
