Why Backing Vehicles Can Pose Risks in Parking Areas
Parking lots and driveways often involve vehicles moving in reverse, which can limit a driver’s visibility. Smaller individuals, especially children, may be harder to see behind a vehicle.
When a vehicle backs out of a space, drivers may rely on mirrors or cameras, but blind spots can still exist. Sudden movement in these areas can increase the chance of a collision.
Low speeds are common in parking areas, but injuries can still be serious depending on the impact and position of the person involved. Awareness and clear visibility can help reduce these risks.
