San Luis Obispo, CA (July 15, 2026) – A major collision involving three vehicles was reported on July 10 along State Route 227 near 2649 SR-227 in San Luis Obispo.
According to CHP dispatch information, the chain-reaction crash was first reported around 3:42 p.m. Initial reports indicated three vehicles were involved, and later radio traffic stated that a head-on impact had occurred between two of them. Emergency units arrived and confirmed the crash had resulted in major injuries. Dispatch logs also noted that one vehicle was leaking fuel from an open gas cap, prompting additional safety measures. Three damaged vehicles, including a black Toyota RAV4, a Honda Civic, and a Pontiac, required towing from the roadway.
Traffic was expected to resume normally shortly after 4:35 p.m. Further details about those involved, including the number of people hurt and their identities, had not been released.
