What Can Cause Crashes at Four-Way Stops?
Four-way stop crashes can happen when drivers misjudge the order of vehicles, fail to stop completely, or do not notice another vehicle entering the intersection. Traffic flow, visibility, and driver attention can all affect how these collisions occur.
Drivers can help reduce the risk of intersection crashes by following stop signs, checking for other vehicles, and making sure the roadway is clear before moving forward. Careful decisions at intersections can help prevent minor and serious collisions.
