Norfolk, NE (August 28, 2026) – A man was seriously injured on Wednesday morning, August 26, after becoming pinned under a crane at Nucor Steel in rural Stanton County, according to the Stanton County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies were called shortly after 10 a.m., and Norfolk Fire and Rescue crews freed the man.
After initial treatment at the scene, he was flown by helicopter to UNMC in Omaha for treatment of a crush injury. His name and current condition have not been released.
