Why Pedestrian Strikes Often Lead to Serious Outcomes
Pedestrian crashes can result in severe injuries because the human body has little protection against the force of a moving vehicle. Even at lower speeds, impact can cause trauma to the head, chest, and lower body.
Urban roads like Culver Road often intersect with nearby residential or commercial activity, increasing the likelihood of pedestrian exposure. Visibility, crossing behavior, and driver awareness are key factors that investigators typically review in these cases. Nighttime or low-visibility conditions can further increase risk, though crashes also occur during daylight hours when traffic is heavy and distractions are present.
