East Dundee, IL (August 31, 2026) – A man was trapped and critically injured after an SUV collided with a dump truck in a turn lane on East Main Street near Commonwealth Drive Saturday morning, August 29 according to the East Dundee and Countryside Fire Protection District. The crash happened around 11:41 a.m.
Firefighters extricated and stabilized the man within 11 minutes. Crews initially requested a medical helicopter but canceled it and took him by ambulance to St. Alexius Hospital in Hoffman Estates. His current condition is unknown. A second person was evaluated at the scene and released.
East Main Street was partially closed while the East Dundee Police Department investigated. We hope the man has a full recovery.
