Phoenix, AZ (July 16, 2026) – A man was seriously hurt after a three-vehicle collision along the westbound Loop 202 Red Mountain Freeway near 32nd St. in east Phoenix on Wednesday, July 15.
According to published reports, the three vehicles came together at about 9 a.m. Investigators said the driver believed to have caused the crash was partially ejected through the front windshield during the collision. Emergency units arrived shortly afterwards and took the man to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The other two drivers were not hurt. The freeway experienced temporary traffic delays while crews cleared debris and moved the damaged vehicles to the shoulder. Images from the roadway showed significant damage to a white sedan, including heavy damage to both the front hood and trunk.
The injured driver has not been publicly identified, and additional information about what led to the accident has not yet been released. The cause of the crash remains under review as investigators continue gathering evidence.
